Senior Conference Program Manager Mission:
SACNAS is a society of scientists dedicated to fostering the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists from college students to professionals to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership.

Summary:
Under the direction of the SACNAS Director of Programs, the Senior Program Manager for National Conference Programming will be responsible for the development and management of all programming elements at the SACNAS National Conference.
The conference is the society's largest programming platform and is designed to achieve outcomes that advance the mission of the organization.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Lead the SACNAS National Conference Program Planning Committee in developing the conference agenda and selecting keynote speakers, professional development sessions and scientific symposia.
Set the full agenda for the conference including plenary program, mentoring activities, exhibit hall hours and other programming priorities.
Manage the recruitment and review of session and symposia proposals.
Conduct follow-up speaker management.
Work with Technology Team to manage online agenda Ensure that effective program tracks are in place for students, postdocs and professionals.
Implement program management tools to evaluate and track specific program outcomes Engage SACNAS community members in volunteer activities that ensure discipline specific programming/mentoring are in place at the conference.
Coordinate SACNAS staff in the implementation and management of the conference by conducting regular conference planning meetings and maintaining the master timeline Work with the SACNAS Communications Team on conference outreach and conference publications.
Work with the SACNAS Events Team to detail space layout as well as AV, food and beverage needs and manage onsite all aspects of the conference program in coordination with the conference Events Team.
Report regularly to Director of Programs on program status, developments and opportunities.

Commitment to the Society's values, mission, goals, and program Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations Experience leading committees/teams Experience developing or delivering innovative programs Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy environment Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Strong computer and technology skills Experience and high comfort level with public speaking Experience planning and executing small and large events Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Occasional regional and national travel will be required Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Grant management experience a plus Professional experience in science career development, leadership development or professional development in higher education, government or industry Source:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
