Vice President of Instruction

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Vice President of Instruction is accountable and responsible for the leadership development, strategic planning, supervision and outcomes of College instructional programs, including entrepreneurial development, and economic development coordination. Reports directly to the President of the College and is accountable for College training operations, functions and budgets. Functions as the Chief Academic Officer of the College and represents the institution in community and state functions. In the absence of the President of the College, assumes duties and responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer of Davis Applied Technology College.
JOB FOCUS
1. Provides leadership, oversight and approval for all training division annual budgets and budget modifications and establishes budget level approval for all employees.
2. Provides leadership and direction in planning, developing and implementing new programs and academic partnerships, including program accountability.
3. Provides consistent leadership to Directors, faculty, and ISD team on researching market and customer requirements and best practices for instructional curriculum and content of certificates and program elements.
4. Oversees professional development of Directors, faculty, and staff, and develops strong continuous quality improvement programs, processes and accountability systems.
5. Provides leadership and initiative in for private and public sector partnerships and funding.
6. Responsible for the leadership, review and administration of Board policy related to instruction.
7. Provides leadership on community boards, councils and internal planning committees, UCAT Planning and Instructional Committee, and other committees as assigned. Supports or encourages legislation or legislative activities as needed, and serves as liaison to school districts.
8. Oversees the success and accountability of Employer Advisory groups.
9. Responsible for developing, authorizing and oversight of reports and accountability data for the training division.
10. Serves as a major spokesperson for events and public presentations, and oversees the brand quality in training division and at training division functions.
11. Reviews director/manager hiring recommendations and makes final recommendations to the Campus College President on the hiring, salary, demotion, probation and/or dismissal of staff.
12. Evaluates performance of Directors, division support personnel, and instructional programs.
13. Reviews faculty member performance evaluations.
14. Acts as decision maker in employee and student grievances.
15. Provides leadership and oversight of Entrepreneurial Development and Education and tenant services and satisfaction at the Northfront Business Resource Center and Freeport Center operations. Coordinates with County and City officials on economic development.
16. Mentors and develops management level institutional leadership through continuous improvement processes.
17. Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Baccalaureate from an accredited college or university in administration, applied technology education, or related fields.
Master's degree required.
Teaching, administering, or supervising applied programs at a secondary or post-secondary level.
Six (6) years of experience at a management level.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
