Major Responsibilities/Functions:
Firmware Design:
responsible for design/development, coding, testing, debugging, implementation and documentation of embedded software system and applications - microprocessors and FPGAs:
Verilog, VHDL and C.
Design Reviews:
Lead, and participate in schematic, PCB, firmware and system reviews, as well as DFx and FMEA.
Technician Training:
Conduct product training for production support operations, sales, and test technicians.
Regulatory:
Interface with testing laboratories and government agencies to facilitate regulatory testing to assure that our products meet the necessary domestic and international regulatory requirements Lead Risk Assessment, and DFx (DFM, FMEA, Tolerance analysis, etc.
) activities Lead electrical and firmware design configuration management throughout the product life cycle Assist other departments, vendors, and management with solutions or alternate approaches to design problems Establish a working relationship with vendors to enhance the completion of products Lead and/or support cost reduction initiatives for hardware components Requirements:
BS, MS or equivalent relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline 7
years in electrical and firmware design, and analysis with experience in a Phase Gated Product Life Cycle process Technical proficiency in analog design, electrical and firmware design, and analysis, with emphasis on microcontroller based digital, and low level analog measurement Experience with medical devices and knowledge of FDA Quality System and Design Control is desired Documented history of successfully deployed products, meeting performance and cost targets Proficient in DFM, DFT, FMEA, and Failure Analysis principles Exceptional communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities Work independently, display and practice highest standards of integrity and work ethics, can do attitude Experience working as a Technical Team Lead.
