Determines design approaches and parameters.
Conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.

Responsibilities:
Includes the following, and other duties as assigned.
Design and test digital and processor circuits to interface with radios, sensors displays and avionics systems Plan system architecture including functional partitions and interfaces Perform board level electrical engineering of analog, digital, and mixed:
mode circuits Make sensor technology selections and document detailed device specifications Integrate mechanical and electrical components for new and existing products Work closely with hardware group engineers, and other development group engineers as well as operations and quality improvement groups Write requirements, specifications and verification tests of system hardware Design, fabricate and test CPU circuits for the IFD and TAS programs Supervisory Responsibility:
Qualifications:
BSEE with a minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering Expertise in digital circuit, microprocessor circuit, memory, high speed serial busses, power supply, programmable logic and mixed signal circuit designs Expertise in design of microprocessor circuits, including circuit analysis, fabrication, debug and testing Proficiency in digital and mixed signal test equipment, experience with LabView desired Previous experience with embedded systems, preferably with PowerPC and ARM processors Strong background in Electrical Engineering to include PCB layout practices (DFM, EMI Suppression, Impedance matching) Knowledge of commercial and/or military avionics standards and development processes (such as DO:
160, DO:
254 or Mil:
Std:
410F) desired.
