Here is a unique opportunity for a successful fundraiser with a demonstrated track record. The challenge is big but so is the potential reward. If you are just looking for a job, this position is not for you! The person hired needs to have the capability to double or triple revenue in the next two to three years, pretty much single-handed. Salary will be contingent on reaching the goals. Starting salary will not be high but can double or triple along with the revenue.
This organization was founded in 1999 and currently provides after school programs in Summit and Wasatch County, UT, schools during the fall and spring semesters for at-risk youth. Current funding comes from state and local government agencies, foundations, corporations and individuals and there are several fund raising events. The organization has done pilot programs in the Salt Lake Valley and desires to expand there as new funds are developed. A Development Director with excellent management ability would be considered for the Executive Director position in two to five years, if expansion goals are achieved.
The Development Director will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for :
Planning strategies and goals to increase fundraising effectiveness including; corporate gift giving, planned giving, annual giving, major gifts, and grant acquisitions.
Preparing the departmental budget.
Recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating fundraising staff and volunteers.
Preparing and analyzing market research to aid in fundraising.
Developing long term relationships with potential major donors.
Cultivating prospects as potential major donors
Ensuring appropriate recognition of donors by overseeing donor newsletters and communications for special events.
Providing volunteer training for fundraising participants.
Tracking the solicitation progress and ensuring that proper records are kept of each solicitation and that appropriate thanks are communicated to donors.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description and must presently reside or relocate to Park City, UT.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Communication, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalency; five or more years experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, business, public relations, corporate or foundation giving including budgeting experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required. Experience in grant or proposal writing, public speaking, working with print and/or electronic media, an understanding of fundraising practices, and experience with donor tracking packages like Giftworks and personnel management is preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
