Real Estate and Transactional Law Paralegal
Position:
Real Estate and Transactional Law Paralegal. Miller Family Real Estate is a real estate and development company associated with the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. This Paralegal will report directly to the President of Miller Family Real Estate and In-house Counsel of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.
Job Description/
Responsibilities:
Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies
Prepare documentation to facilitate real estate transactions including corporate formation documents, purchase and sale agreements, leases, closing documents, escrow instruction letters, closing checklists, etc.
Order, review and summarize title commitments and specifically exceptions to title
Order, review and summarize surveys and coordinate with the title company to have title exceptions noted on surveys
Must understand legal descriptions of property and verify accuracy of descriptions
Work closely with outside counsel, real estate brokers, title companies, surveyors, lenders' counsel, constructions companies, banks and state and local government representatives to facilitate real estate transactions, due diligence, closings and financing, etc.
Maintain a highly organized and detailed filing system for all projects/matters
Requirements:
Must possess mature judgment, flexibility, independence; and exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills
Must represent the company professionally and positively
Must be willing to work occasional weekends and occasional long hours
Must have an outgoing personality and ability to work well with fellow employees
Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Willingness and ability to perform executive administrative tasks
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned and as needed
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with deed plotting programs for verifying legal descriptions
