Coding/Billing Specialist

Full time Coding/Billing Specialist needed for a single specialty surgical practice.
Manage all aspects of billing process for both office visits and outpatient surgeries.
Bill insurance claims timely and accurately to insure prompt and accurate reimbursements from payers.
Obtain patient benefits and pre-authorizations.
Manage patient accounts including handling patient questions/concerns, researching account issues, and collections from both insurance carriers and patients.
Review patient records and notes as necessary.
Review posted payments and EOB's; research and work insurance denials.
Initiate refunds as necessary.
Work with insurance carriers regarding provider contracts as necessary.
Minimum of 3 yrs coding/billing experience required; including experience with pre-authorizations, denials, appeals, rebills, E-billing and being generally familiar with insurance company processes and requirements.
Must be very familiar and comfortable with CPT and ICD-9 codes.
Must be able to work independently but also work well within a team environment.
Must be organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent customer service and written and verbal communicaton skills.
Prefer experience with Electronic Medical Records.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
