McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc. (MEI) is a leading waste management company, located in Apollo, PA. Since 1947, MEI has provided transportation, treatment,disposal and on site environmental services for a wide variety of clients.
MEI is seeking energetic and ambitious individuals to join the field services team as a field services technician. The key responsibilities and duties of the position include:
- Performs a variety of tasks associated with industrial waste clean up, site remediation, equipment and facility decontamination and handling of hazardous and non hazardous materials
- Loads and secures necessary equipment and supplies
- Pumps, transports and disposes of liquid and semi-solid wastes
- Performs taks involving the use of vacuum truck services, bulk hauling services and high pressure water jetting
- Participates on emergency response teams
- Operates a variety of vehicles and equipment including Class 6 and 8 trucks, utility trucks, vacuum trucks/rolloffs. tractor trailers, fron end loaders, DO, pH, HNU, oxygen and hydrogen sulfide meters
Requirements:
- Post High School education with background in chemistry and math desired
- Reading comprehension skills, math aptitude and mechanical aptitude
- Ability and desire to learn
- Able to complete an extensive training program in proper waste handling and sampling procedures, environmental laws and regulations, safety training, certification and testing, and tank cleaning
- Able to wear a wide variety of protective personal equipment including level A-D protective clothing, respirators (full/half face), SCBA equipment
- Able to acquire and maintain a Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, as part of the training
- Excellent attitude towards persoanl and process safety and environmental compliance
- Able to work in all weather conditions and in waste environments
- Initiative, self starter
- Good job planning and organization skills with attention to details
