Position Summary:
The Product Manager will be working in collaboration with the Senior Product Manager of Retail in selecting items and developing buying plans by line/product with Catalogue and Retail category marketing strategies and objectives
Responsibilities:
-Working with Senior Manager to develop assortment strategies, selecting vendors and products based on specific requirements, trends, timing, target customers and distribution. -Responsible for achieving category sales, profit, margins and turnover goals based on merchandise planning objectives. -Working with Senior Manager to create and Implement promotional planning to leverage flyers, web and other external media. -Regularly review performance indicators against sales, profit, margin and other key performance targets. -Forecast trends and perform market analysis, competitive shopping and analyzing sales trends to maintain competitive position. -Monitor inventory levels working closely with the Planner and Allocator to recommend distributions to the stores to maximize sales and promotional events. -Develop and maintain sold vendor relationships maximizing profitability to achieve financial objectives -Liaise and collaborate with the Marketing and Store Operations departments to develop external and in store marketing and merchandising programs. -Prepare product presentations on a quarterly basis for Senior Management review. -Create and maintain all planograms across all categories to ensure competitive and trend right direction. Areas of Knowledge/Technical Skills:
-Proficient software competency- Word, Excel and Access, PowerPoint. -Knowledge and understanding of purchasing agreements and inventory management. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills. -Knowledge of Crystal Reports an asset Education/ Work Experience:
-3-5 Years experience in buying within the CPG industry with retail exposure. Experience from within the Food & Beverage specific industries are an asset including Gas and Convenience channels. -Proven track record for revenue and margin improvement -Post secondary education with a focus on business, commerce or marketing.
