Shearer Heating and Air Conditioning is the leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and servicing to the residnetial, light commercial and commercial markets in the Washington, PA area. To further its efforts, it is seeking to fill the key position of HVAC Service Manager. The key responsibilities and duties of the position include: - Manages the service operations to acheive profitable execution of assignend service business. Ensures consistency and excellence of service and monitors and tracks service business plans. - Evaluates commercial properties for potential commercial maintenance agreements, develops and makes presentations to commercial prospects - Ensures that residential pricing structures are achieved and maintained - Determines the resourcing needs for service work by matching the capabilities of the service technicians with the length of the service job - Makes periodic visits to customers to assess service performance and follows up and reviews service technicians work - Assists the parts manager in estimating service jobs - Assists the general manager in resolving customer complaints and issues reagarding service technician performance - Conducts service perparation work at the end of the dayand beginning of the next day - Conducts service debriefs with service technicians after service calls; reviews work of service technicians - Assists service technicians with difficutl call-ins during the off hours - Some field work, off hours and weekend work would be involved - Manages service technicians and a dispatcher to deliever excellent technical and customer service - Assessed service technician performance, ensures compliance to performance standards and initiates corrective action as appropriate - Assists in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of new service technicians - Assists in developing performance standards and expectations for service technicians and holds technicians accoutnable for performance - Develops and conducts performance reviews and development plans for service technicians and coaches technicians - Leads and conducts service technician meetings
Requirements:
- Eight (8) or more years experience as an HVAC commercial and residential service technician required - Two (2) or more years experience in an HVAC service manager position preferred - Sufficient HVAC technical knowledge and skills required - High sense of urgency and energy level - Able to manage multiple priorities - Great Memory recall; able to retain detailed information as to service call history - Stong initiative, self directed and self motivated - Excellent verbal and written communications kills - Strong customer relations, tact and interactions skills - Strong people management skills - able and willing to assess, coach, evaluate, judge, develop, counsel and correct service technicians - Able to develop performance standards and expectations - Good presentation skills - Able and willing to get results accomplished through the efforts of others -- this is a managing roile and not a doing role - NATE certification desired - Valid PA Drivers License required
