Join the First 5 Service Corps Volunteer In Service to America VISTA (aka domestic peace corps) and serve 12 months in local nonprofits and school districts. Bilingual English/Spanish or Vietnamese candidates encouraged to apply.

VISTAs receive a $1326 gross per month living allowance, up to $850 per month housing allowance paid to your landlord or mortgage company, emergency health benefits, up to $400 child care allowance, if applicable, and more! Note: This will not affect public assistance, social security or social security disability benefits! Receive professional training opportunities and skill development during service. Mileage reimbursement. $550 Relocation reimbursement if moving over 50 miles. Upon completion of service receive: $4,725 Educational Award or $1,200 cash stipend.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident; At least 18 years old; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Must have reliable transportation, automobile with proof of insurance. Must commit to 1 year, full-time service with no outside obligations such as school or employment.
