| What: | Gardening at Rhododendron Island | | When: | Saturday, December 5, 2009 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM | | Where: | Golden Gate Park - Rhododendron Island - In front of the bathrooms off 36th Ave. in GG Park, San Francisco | The Rhododendron Island in Golden Gate Park once boasted a beautiful array of rhododendrons - a springtime delight. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the One Brick volunteers it once again shines!!!
After a year of hard work that ended in August of 2004, the Island has been restored to its former glory and is now a landmark that Golden Gate Park can be proud of.
The Story: The Rhododendron Island was an ongoing project, solely tended by One Brick. We signed up to restore the Island to its former glory. This was an enormous project and WE FINISHED!!!
Come out and help us maintain the beauty we have created there! As with any garden, this space needs regular attention in order to maintain its beautiful appearance. About San Francisco Rec & Park Dept - Kristin Bowman:
