I am an intelligent, funny, and friendly guy who is looking to make
some new acquaintances, have some new experiences and maybe find
someone special along the way.
I have a college degree from Loyola College in Maryland, with a
focus on political science and philosophy. Not necessarily the
choice for big money, but it has helped me tremendously in
life.
Oh and I am divorced. Yes, I know that is a huge problem for some
people. I understand and I am sorry if this is something that
someone finds completely unacceptable. I don't take my promises
lightly, and those who know me best value my integrity and honesty
as well as my reliability. Sometimes things do just go wrong, even
with the best of intentions. On a more pleasant note, we left on
understanding terms and there are no lingering issues.
With the exception of a stint in Florida for a year, I have been in
the same career field for 9 years. It is interesting, has taken me
to exotic and fantastic places and most importantly it has given me
the opportunity to work with some very talented and extraordinary
individuals. My current position is not exactly up my alley, but it
has given me a chance to see some of the other sides of my
profession and expand my knowledge base. For that I'm grateful at
least. Hopefully, I'll be going on to something a little more
exciting again soon. However, I do plan on staying in the area. I
am lucky to have a solid mix of old and new friends in the area. I
also am happy to be living close to my Cousin, Danielle, she and I
are like brother and sister as we were pretty much raised together.
Life is pretty good for me right now.
I have been lucky enough to travel around this great world, I love
new experiences and sharing those with others I am around. I love
the outdoors, but i am very comfortable in urban settings as well.
I like to stay in shape, and keep active which helps me balance out
the rest of my life. I am very social and love to be around people.
I like to be an active participant in the conversation. Opinions
and viewpoints... I have them and am not afraid to use them.
Discussion and debate are favorite pass times and I love anyone who
can verbally spar with me. Although I do argue my points
passionately and believe in my point of view, I am of the belief
that everyone is entitled to their own reasoned beliefs and
viewpoints. The world would be a very boring place indeed if I were
right all the time.
I would have to say my personality is best described as "paint in
broad strokes." I approach life with a general idea, but I find
that the little things that you didn't account for will trip you up
if you have a rigid plan in mind - no plan ever survives the first
encounter. So get the basic idea and shape of things, then
improvise and adapt as you go... dance if you will. I have a great
deal of patience and I am a firm believer in Free Will. I am
analytic, reasoned, but I know that it must all be balanced with
the heart and emotion... otherwise life would be near
unbearable.
I am looking to have fun and be with someone who is like-minded but
who will also challenge me. I would love to meet someone who has
lots of energy and is excited to be alive. I like to go out and do
things, explore and see the world. However, I also want someone who
will find equal pleasure in lounging in bed on a Saturday or Sunday
morning. I want someone who is comfortable in social settings and
can discuss a wide range of topics. I want to meet someone who is
confident and intelligent, who knows what she wants in life and has
at least an idea of how to go about accomplishing that. I want
someone who is trustworthy and honest, but who can trust as well. I
hope to find a match who has the same zeal for life that I have and
who loves to share things with the right person.
Oh and I have been a bartender before - during that stint in
Florida for a year, so if you need someone to make you your
favorite drink then I'm the guy (Martinis, Margaritas, Capirinhas,
and Long Island Iced Teas are my favorites to make). Granted that's
not my job right now, but it was a lot of fun and I still have a go
at it when friends throw a party... I recently bartended at my
friend's birthday party and she is one of the best bartenders in
D.C., it went over exceptionally well so I guess I still have what
it takes.
