So Let me get this straight. You want to hire a DJ with sound and lighting for 5 hours for a 40th birthday party and only pay them $175.00? Lets do the math.
Sound system = $1200 ( for a bottom end system)
DJ Equipment = $500 (and thats for cheap CD players and a cheap mixer)
CDs or Laptop = $1000 (for any normal library of music)
5 0r 6 Lights = $300 (again for low end lights)
light stands = $200
Thats over $3000 for basic equipment
Then
1/2 hour to load equipment into vehicle
1/2 hour to unload
1 hour to set up
5 hours of DJing
1 hour to take it all down
1/2 to load into vehicle
1/2 hour to unload
total = 9 hours
Not to mention the time and gas spent traveling to and from your event
So to recap, You want some one to spend 9 hours working with their own $3000 worth of equipment and you want to pay them $175.00? You cant rent half way decent equipment for that much. Are you Retarded? You are either cheap or really hurting for money.
If you are hurting for money, I can understand and sympathize. But admit it and say you need some one to do it cheap. Dont accuse DJs who have spent thousands and thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours perfecting their trade of being over priced. You have no idea of the time, money, or experience it takes to be a good DJ. I am willing to bet your are the other type though. CHEAP! you are probably just some ass who doesnt really think things through and expects first class services for minimum wage. I hope karma bites you in the ass and you get some 16 year kid with a disco ball and an Ipod. There are 2 things in this world that you always get.
